This week we proudly bring you

DJ Walter Stallworth of Chicago.

My DJ career began when I enrolled at Whitney Young high school. It was there where I learned about house music. My fellow classmates educated me about it. I spent my Friday nights listening to Frankie Knuckles, The Hot Mix 5, Steve Hurley and Pharris Thomas to name a few. I got a job after school and got enough money for turntables and starting buying records at Imports and Loop records. I just made tapes for friends but it was fun. When I got into college I had the blessing to play for some of the Alpha Phi Alpha parties at IIT. I left DJing and focused more on work and a career. At my current job I met Shelby Ruff, the man who would become my best friend and as we talked we found out we had DJing in common. With his help, I started to DJ once again. Once back I was influenced by Mel Hammond, Jevon Jackson, Mark Grant, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and DJ Meet (who's house tape was the first house I had heard in 8 years). I've been fortunate enough to play at Lava Lounge, Katakomb, Zentra,Transit, Betty's Blue Star, BigWig ( now called Four ), Jo De Presser's internet radio show, Beviamo and LeTorque's loft parties. I'm always striving to get better as a DJ and hope to become a good producer as well. I hope to take my act global and share what I offer to a global audience. I firmly believe in the quote " play what you feel and feel what you play". Take care and thanks for stopping by. Peace
